Owner/Behavior Consultant & Trainer
Hi, I’m Kate. A dog trainer, animal nerd, and New Yorker who’s spent the past 15 years helping people and their dogs better understand each other.
Whether it’s working through anxieties, phobias, aggression, or just making daily life smoother in the city, I’m here to help you find realistic, welfare-first solutions that bring out the best in your dog, and make your relationship stronger along the way.
Before starting Bark & Disco, I co-founded School For The Dogs NYC back in 2011 and spent over a decade as its Training Director in Manhattan. That time taught me not just how to help dogs learn, but how to truly support the humans on the other end of the leash: through clear guidance, practical explanations, and lots of empathy.
Since 2017, I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring aspiring trainers through the CATCH Professional Dog Training Academy, and leading hands-on workshops that help bridge the gap between theory and practice.
I specialize in urban behavior challenges — especially reactivity, aggression, and anxiety. I love digging into complex cases and creating training plans that feel doable in real life (even the messy parts).

“What I love most about dog training is that it never gets old. Even with years of experience and a solid foundation of knowledge, every dog keeps me learning, questioning, and evolving. Their individuality constantly challenges me, in the best way, and reminds me how much more there is to discover.”
